Comments on: Botswana in the Mind of Ghana http://www.talkafrique.com/issues/botswana-in-the-mind-of-ghana Connecting To Advance Sat, 27 Aug 2011 13:28:50 +0000 hourly 1 By: Kwabena http://www.talkafrique.com/issues/botswana-in-the-mind-of-ghana#comment-1056 Fri, 26 Aug 2011 13:39:38 +0000 http://www.talkafrique.com/?p=9606#comment-1056 olmossy, you made an a very important point and that is something that is normally missed when we create a one-sided story for Africa. Very few people know the fact you made about Botswana. And this is why we have to keep educating people that Africa is made of 54 independent countries with different stories.

I also want to point out that, Botswana is in that position because it has enjoyed a stable and successful democracy ever since independence in 1964. Can we say the same thing for Ghana? Obviously no!
I only hope that, as Solo said, the bottles of beer that will pop at the Castle will not overshadow the lessons that we got to learn.
Kofi, thanks for a wonderful article

Botswana may not be a popular country but it’s making huge progress. According to the IMF, it’s the only country with sustained economic growth over the past 4 decades. Think about it. What will Attah learn from that?
