Majority of our work is done by the civilians because of the nature of work of service personals.1.They travel to UN Operations.2.They go to local operations.3.They travel to promotion courses.When they are out for these operations, any work that may come we are there to do. But when it’s time of salaries, there is nothing to ride home about.The most dangerous part is that when there arise any form of disaster in the base, we are included but we don’t care, for that is the nature of our work. But there are many risk involve.Even the new military personals, we the civilians teach them of every particular work they were enlisted for.CHEATING ON SALARYWhen we compare our SINGLE SPINE SALARY STRUCTURE to that of other civilian workers outside M.O.D, they are far better than us. But we were told that we all will be on the same scale according to our qualifications. All attempts to rectify it here prove futile.CHEATING ON PROMOTIONAccording to our appointment letter, it was stated that if you are able to serve for 3 years from the time you were employed, then you due for promotion to the next rank. Sometimes you can be at that rank for 5 years or more without any promotion. Even when you are blessed with promotion, the arrears of your promotion salary will be delayed and if is come, all will not come.CHEATING ON PENSIONWhen a civilian employee is able to serve the mother Ghana and is time for pension, it’s means He / She is 60 years old. But when He is going for retirement, the civilian doesn’t benefit anything from MINISTRY OF DEFENCE, living his faith on his small SOCIAL SECURITY TRUST for so many years. But the service personals benefit something to go home with, before they will be receiving their monthly retirement pay.THEREFORE WE THE CIVILIAN EMPLOYEES OF GHANA ARMED FORCES ARE APPEALING TO THE ATTA MILLS GOVERNMENT TO COME TO OUR AID AND HELP US FOR OUR CONCERN AND GRIEVANCES.
