Comments on: There Is Hope For Democracy In Africa http://www.talkafrique.com/issues/is-hope-for-democracy-in-africa Connecting To Advance Fri, 11 Mar 2011 01:56:19 +0000 hourly 1 By: serge akmel http://www.talkafrique.com/issues/is-hope-for-democracy-in-africa#comment-428 Tue, 11 Jan 2011 10:00:30 +0000 http://www.talkafrique.com/?p=4789#comment-428 I agree partially with what is written in the article and will try to make a case in defending Mr Gbagbo.
The election in Cote d’ ivoire needless to say has a very particular nature that we all must take into account.
The C.I was violated since 2002 by a rebellion ( a failed coup d’ etat ) army that has left the country divided in two, the north controlled by the rebel army and the south under the control of the loyalist army of the sovereign state.
Where were the A.U, UN. EU, ECOWAS to strongly condemn the failed putch that has pralysed Cote d’Ivoire for 10 years?
But on the contrary they all put pressure on Gbagbo to co-rule the country with the rebels up untill the eve of the election.

many peace agreements ( wagadougou, togo, pretoria,..) were made in order to hold an election under the condition that the rebel up North disarmed totally. The UN was then responsible for such a disarmement before the election, but much to our surprise they fail to disarme the north and forced us to go to the election.
So why is it surprising to the whole world that so many irregularities happened in the north of the country forcing the constitutional council to void some polling stations where attrocities took places.
All Gbagbo is requesting is a recount and the analysis of the verbal proces of all the polling stations concerned.
Why is the whole international community including their chosen president alassane are againt a simple proposition that will defacto bring peace to the country?
I will ask all to go and investigate before like sheeps following France who since 2002 are helping the rebellion and we all know that.
Please before insulting the people of cote d’ ivoire for massively suppoting Gbagbo try and find out why?
Why is it that Alassane has the majority of his supporters outside of the country. He calls for civil disobedience and the whole country is still busy at work including his own establishment. He calls for disobedience in the army and not even one noise of it in the casern.
the only millitary allegiance he has is that of the rebel army he financialy with the help of burkina and france master minded.
The will of the Ivorian is so clear they have chosen Gbagbo, and truly we have.

Please use your office to talk sense into that man ears to step down for peace to prevail. He should not be soo greedy. He should consider the lives that will be lost if he continues to do that. Let pray for the better.

They’re fianlly learning. Hope got Obama into the white house. No one likes a politician who always talks about gloom and darkness. I like this stuff.
