Kufour could not fight corruption. When he declared zero tolerance for corruption, he later said corruption existed from Adam! Kufour failed to be stateman enough and denied his predessessor JJ Rawlings VIP facilities all over the world! The article intimated that Kufour is the only president who handed over power as peacefully as he took over power; but somebody handed over power to him peacefully. Remember!
In fact to majority of ordinay Ghanaians and arguably the rest of Africa, JJ Rawlings was the hero of Ghana. A stting US president visited Ghana during Rawlings’ tenure; the Queen of England, Elizabeth II visited Ghana when JJ Rawlings was ruling Ghana. What is extraordinary if the the Deputy Prime Minister, John Prescot visited when JA Kufour was president. It is only those ho are intellectually bankrupt that will easily buy into the false impression being created in this article.
