Jermaine Jackson Released From Burkina Faso?

As we posted here last week, Jermaine Jackson, the brother of the pop Star Michael Jackson, was stuck in Burkina Faso, Africa, due to an expired passport and unpaid child support worth about $91,921. Jackson owes the money in back child support to Alejandra Genevieve Oaziaza, the mother of his two sons.
Under California law, unpaid payments exceeding $2,500 per month are grounds for the individual’s passport to automatically be flagged. According to the law, Jackson’s passport could not be renewed until the excessive amount was paid in full.

Surprisingly, however, sources from RadarOnline.com say they spotted Jackson driving through Calabasas, California earlier this weekend.

“He was driving a white Range Rover and had a blonde in the front seat next to him,” the witness claimed. “He was laughing and looked like he didn’t have a care in the world.”

It is not clear yet whether Jackson got amnesty from the US Embassy in Ouagadougou and also whether the unpaid child support has been settled.
Are you surprised such a word class celebrity owes child support dues? Do you think Jackson should have been allowed to come back to the US if he still has not paid the child support?

Jermaine Jackson Stuck in Africa

It appears the Jackson Family will never leave the news. This time it’s Jermaine Jackson making the buzz. Jermaine took a little trip to Africa and now he’s not allowed to leave the continent and come back to America.

While he was in Africa Michael Jackson’s bother’s passport expired. He can’t get a new one because he owes a little child support, like around $100,000 worth. In May of 2008, Alejandre Oaziaza, the mother of Jermaine’s child, got a child support order against Jackson requiring him to pay $3,000 a month. Well, Jermaine didn’t have all that money and he now owes his baby’s momma $92,921.

According to Metrolyrics, California law states that when a person owes more than $2,500 a month in child support, the State Department of Child Support Services automatically informs the FBI of the delinquency, which then flags up the person’s passport. When that person’s passport expires it cannot be renewed until all the child support money is paid in full.

It looks like Jermaine Jackson better start hunting around for an apartment in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, because things are doubtful if he’ll be able to come up with all that child support any time soon and he’ll need a new place to stay.

There is a way that Jermaine can get back to America. The American Embassy can issue temporary papers to a US citizen that will let him return to the states. No word yet if the embassy has any plans to do that.

So, what do we learn from this?  First of all make sure your passport is no where near close to expiring but most importantly, pay your child support and if you can’t, don’t leave the country!
