My World as Credited to Ara!!

I sat before the screen of my T.V set lately to behold a documentary to the credit of a young talented, resourceful and world acclaimed artiste popularly known in the Nigerian creative arts and entertertainment industry as ARA. She is a drum expert,with specialization on ‘talking-drum’. Ara of a noble background, developed interest in musical art while growing up as a child. She developed love for music after her parents. Ara craved for the drum as she went out of her way to associate with local artistes whom she felt could assist her in her quest to become a drum beater. She was laughed at and not taken serious despite her sincere interest in creative arts. She took the bull by the horn by creating ‘her world’ after her passion for the drum.

Today, history tells her story and generations unborn will come to learn and appreciate her ingenuity as the GUINNESS World book of Records has ARA as the first FEMALE in the world to be an artiste into ‘talking drum’. This has not only brought Ara into the limelight, but as opened doors of outstanding opportunities to her world. She has had the unilateral privilege of meeting with the Queen of England, Stevie Wonders, et al owing to her achievements in creative arts. Ara is a gem,a pride of Africa and a living icon of sheer creativity in arts.

As stated earlier, Ara is of a humble background like any of Us. Ara grew to have the same level of exposure and training as with most of us, not minding the ‘unfriendly’ environment she found herself, never complaining to her parents, family members, friends, society about her pitiable condition. Ara discovered her passion in life at an early age and went ahead to create ‘her world’ in order to explore and develop herself. In her world, Ara believes in herself when others do not, Ara carved a niche for herself when others settles for less, Ara had a vision when others do not, Ara filled a potent vacuum, when others could not.

The same story and experience is within the reach of any who can create a ‘world’ of his or her own. We do not have to tailor our ‘world’ after the Adenuga’s of this world, after Bill gates, after Mark Zukerberg, after Mandela of this world all who respectively created there ‘world’ and made or are making impact globally. In our unique corridors, we can be the BEST if only we strive towards excellence and sheer creativity. The world abounds with endless possibilities. Those who are able to tap from available ‘resources’ productively as with Ara shall stand before Kings of the nations, leaders of communities and the Intellectuals to be adored, where not, such individuals would have succeeded in inscribing a mark of positive influence in the mind and hearts of admirers.

Finally, it behooves on us as individuals to challenge ourselves creatively. Look inwardly and identify those things you LOVE doing and that gives you joy and contentment. Make it your determination that no matter how little you can exercise such skills presently, NO DAY WILL GO BY WITHOUT YOU HAVING TO EXPLORE YOUR PASSION IN YOUR UNIQUE WORLD. Remember, in life, when Opportunity presents itself to us, and we can hardly take advantage of it, it’s usually due to lack of recognition of such opportunity or not been ‘adequately prepared’ to claim it profitably. Our tomorrow starts today. Let’s make haste..while the Sun shines. Rule your World!!!
